Delayed Deliverance
Updated: Dec 27, 2020

God’s timing is not always aligned with our own. In many instances, even the most ardent Christian believers find their faith tested in ways they thought were not possible. I believe this is part of God’s design to sanctify our faith.
For many Christian supporters of President Trump, the delay in the results of his re-election has pushed their faith to the brink. Many prophets proclaimed that President Trump would serve another term months and in some instances even years prior to the November 2020 election. But as we draw closer and closer to January 20th, the faith of many Christians have faltered. Even some of the prophets have retracted their prophecies and the President’s seemingly close supporters are beginning to distance themselves from him and calling him to concede. Some of these so-called supporters are high-profile Christian leaders and staunch Conservatives.
So what can Christians take away from this delay in God’s deliverance that was spoken through His prophets? Is there a lesson or lessons to be learned? I would like to share with you what I think God is doing with His Church through this delayed deliverance. We already have an example in the Bible that not only shows us the Hand and Will of God at work, but to the delight of Christian Trump supporters, the eventual outcome.
So let’s go to Exodus 14. In this chapter, we find the famous story of Moses and Israelites pushed up against the Red Sea with a pursuing army led by the Pharaoh himself. If you know the story, God delivered the Israelites from the Pharaoh and his army by splitting the Red Sea allowing safe passage to the other side. The Pharaoh’s continued pursuit drew them in closer where he found himself between the walled waters of the Red Sea which eventually crushed him and his army as God allowed the waters to fall upon them once the people of Israel were safely on the other side. So what is happening now that happened then? Let’s take a look.
God Will Get the Glory
In Exodus 14:15-18, it says, “Then the LORD said to Moses, "Why are you crying out to me? Tell the Israelites to move on. Raise your staff and stretch out your hand over the sea to divide the water so that the Israelites can go through the sea on dry ground. I will harden the hearts of the Egyptians so that they will go in after them. And I will gain glory through Pharaoh and all his army, through his chariots and his horsemen. The Egyptians will know that I am the LORD when I gain glory through Pharaoh, his chariots and his horsemen."
If President Trump won on November 3rd, God would not have gotten the glory. Instead, I believe many people (to include many Christians) would have heaped praises on the President and his lore would have grown even greater. Don’t get me wrong. I believe President Trump is God chosen leader for America but a delay in his re-election is creating a Red Sea moment that will give God the ultimate glory in the end. Even the mainstream media and all the pundits will have no choice but to admit that they were wrong.
God is Drawing in Our Enemies to Remove Them
In Exodus 14:23-28 it says, “The Egyptians pursued them, and all Pharaoh's horses and chariots and horsemen followed them into the sea. During the last watch of the night the LORD looked down from the pillar of fire and cloud at the Egyptian army and threw it into confusion. He jammed the wheels of their chariots so that they had difficulty driving. And the Egyptians said, "Let's get away from the Israelites! The LORD is fighting for them against Egypt." Then the LORD said to Moses, "Stretch out your hand over the sea so that the waters may flow back over the Egyptians and their chariots and horsemen." Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and at daybreak the sea went back to its place. The Egyptians were fleeing toward it, and the LORD swept them into the sea. The water flowed back and covered the chariots and horsemen-the entire army of Pharaoh that had followed the Israelites into the sea. Not one of them survived.”
The delayed timing is allowing the enemies of God to be drawn out so they can be exposed out in the open to face judgment. This is happening in a couple of ways. For the President, he is seeing who are truly his supporters and those who are using his position to achieve their own selfish goals. I like to say, “Even a fool will sit next to the king while he is on his throne but a true friend will stand next to the king in battle.” The President will get a second term and those who stood next to him in this time will serve with him in his next administration.
There is also the issue of the deep seeded corruption in the election process and the American government structure. This corruption isn’t limited to just this election but decades of illegal practices over the years and within the American government. If President Trump’s win would have been announced on November 3rd, this corruption would have gone unchecked. What we are seeing now is the drawing out of the corrupt officials and practices. These individuals and practices will soon find themselves between the walls of God’s judgement. Once exposed, they will no longer be a pursuer that opposes God’s will.
God is Sanctifying Our Faith
In Exodus 14:30-31 it says, “That day the LORD saved Israel from the hands of the Egyptians, and Israel saw the Egyptians lying dead on the shore. And when the Israelites saw the mighty hand of the LORD displayed against the Egyptians, the people feared the LORD and put their trust in him and in Moses his servant.”
This is what I believe is the most important reason for the delay. As I stated in the beginning, God’s delays are often designed to sanctify our faith. Many Christians who voted for Vice President Biden will have to take a long look in the mirror and ask themselves, “How did I miss out on knowing God’s will for our country?” For those Christians who voted for President Trump but then loss faith in his re-election efforts will say, “Was my faith based only on what was seen and heard in the natural?” In both instances, I believe God is doing a great work in all of us. God wants a spotless bride who loves and trust Him no matter the circumstances.
Conclusion
I believe that God has a plan to follow through on the covenant He made with our forefathers. That covenant is to have a land that is dedicated to serving God, praising Him, and spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the nations. In order to do this, the American Church and the faith of the whole Body of Christ around the world will need a Red Sea moment that will sanctify our faith.
So be of good cheer! God still sits on the throne and He will not allow judgement to come upon anyone or any nation whose results were brought about by deceptions and illegal activity. Stand firm, hold the line, pray, fast, and worship God. Sanctify your faith so that when God does His mighty work upon the land and around the world, you will be ready!
